A Family-Owned Business
Carter Framing, formerly known as Pro Framing, has proudly served Manassas and Northern Virginia for 40 years. New name, same location! We have quality products for the right price!
Michael Carter and his partner, Susie Zill acquired the storefront custom framing business in 2016 from Mike’s long-time friend and co-worker Pam Chiocca when she retired.

Michael earned his degree in Art from James Madison University. As a painter, he constructed frames for his own artwork and has been working in the custom picture framing industry for over 30 years. He has framed a vast variety of items, including photos, posters, original paintings, jerseys and memorabilia. His measurements are meticulous, his work exacting, and he treats each client’s work with TLC.

Susie’s lifetime career has been in the field of education. She hails from Pittsburgh, PA, but has lived in the Northern Virginia area since 2000. As she leaves her job of working with children behind, Susie is pleased to join the field of custom framing.

Michael, Susie and their sidekick, Patches the Shop Dog, appreciate the warm welcome received from our fellow Manassas business owners, and from clients, old and new. We are proud members of the Manassas community and supporters of our local police force. Also, we work closely with the local art museum located in the Candy Factory.

Meet Patches
After seven years of serving as Carter Framing's friendly mascot/greeter, Patches has retired. No longer Susie's companion at the store, Patches spends his days at home in any one of six cozy beds. When he's not napping, he loves to get under Mike's feet in the workshop!
